ABOUT SAVRID

Sacramento Valley Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (SaVRID), a non-profit organization dedicated to the professional development of interpreters and an advocate for the interpreting profession, is a Region V Affiliate Chapter of the National Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf, Inc. (RID)

RID is the only national association dedicated to the professional development of interpreters and transliterators. Founded in 1964, the goal of RID is to promote the profession of interpreting and transliterating American Sign Language and English.

SaVRID is a member-driven organization. As such, we make it a priority to report out to the membership. The 2013-14 board made it a priority to create a website that engages members and local community stakeholders. Since many of them are deaf, the goal is to provide more reporting in ASL that will be shared through our YouTube, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and on the website. As we attempt to make communication a priority, we invite your input. Please email the SaVRID Board to share your opinion.
