SaVRID Mission Statement

Exchange ideas, opinions, and experiences concerning interpreting;

Further the development of effective communication skills in interpreting;

Strive for the attainment of the highest standards in these communicative skills;

Act as a body to advance professional and ethical standards for interpreters;

Advocate for professional recognition and treatment of interpreters;

Uphold the communication rights of Deaf, hard of hearing and hearing people.


Philosophy Statement

The philosophy of SaVRID is that quality interpretation services will help to ensure effective communication between people who are Deaf or hard of hearing and people who are hearing. As a local professional association for interpreters SaVRID provides a forum to achieve its mission and encourages its members' pursuit of excellence.

Protactile Language Theory Online Certificate is Now Open!

Open from 10/1/24 to 12/31/24.

This program is 16 hours over 13 modules.

Please note: Because this online module program is offered for free as a part of a federal grant, we are timing registrants' enrollment period in order to collect evaluation and assessment data that comes with folks completing our program.

HOW TO ENROLL:

  1. Sign into PLI Moodle (or create a free account if you are new!) at https://moodle.protactilelanguageinterpreting.org/.
  2. Click on the “Module Catalog” link at the top of any page to browse our programs.
  3. Scroll down to find and click on the Fall 2024 Protactile Language Theory Certificate program.
  4. Click the “Enroll Me” button and you can get started immediately!
