This workshop examines the vital role of Deaf Interpreters (DIs) in K-12 education and equips interpreters, educators, and the community to promote student accessibility and success.

Review three positionalities for Deaf interpreters working in K12 settings based on Rosemary's research from 2019. Explore the benefits of DI/HI teams as well as some strategies for working together. Consider some case laws that provide rationale and support for getting DIs in your classrooms. When you are asked, can Deaf interpreters work in K-12 settings, you can readily and confidently answer, YES CAN!
