SaVRID is a Region V Affiliate Chapter of
the National Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf, Inc. (RID)
RID is the only national association dedicated to the professional
development of interpreters and transliterators. Founded in 1964, the
goal of RID is to promote the profession of interpreting and
transliterating American Sign Language and English.
SaVRID Purpose:
- Exchange ideas, opinions, and experiences concerning interpreting
- Further the development of effective communication skills in interpreting and transliterating
- Strive for the attainment of the highest standards in these communicative skills
- Act as a body to advance professional and ethical standards for interpreters
- Advocate for professional recognition and treatment of interpreters
- Support the rights of Deaf and hearing people

As an Affiliate Chapter of RID, Inc., SaVRID qualifies as a non-profit organization under Section 501(c)3 of the Internal Revenue Code. Our Tax Exempt ID Number is 51-0256392. As such, persons making donations to SaVRID may deduct their contributions.
